I spent yesterday servicing models for the coming Old Warden ModelFly Scale Weekend. Some are scale, some aren't, but there was about a dozen of them! Here's a selection: - Tissue repairs on a very old KK Competitor, the fade rate of the original tissue is quite amazing! - Fin and...

I've reported most of the repairs carried out after last Sunday's very windy Flying Aces Meeting at Peterborough. All that remains is my Veron Tiger Moth. I was hoping for another first place in the Masefield competition, an event the model won at Old Warden earlier this year, but it was not to be....

Friend of mine saved this from a widow who was going to put it next to Guy Fawkes :( He then doubted whether he would get round to doing it so beer vouchers were exchanged and now it's mine. Hopefully I can do it justice and get it close to the original builders finished article, who is by the way...

Dont think its worth repairing, it needs at least 27 new parts   so i expect it would cost nearly as much as a new engine, Thing is i was so chuffed with it and the fact i only paid 200 euros instead of 350 and i knew the engine from new as i had to fit it for the owner and he only...

The model I picked up frm eBay needs a bit of a repair to the wing tip, it looks like the wing tip has smacked the ground. The veneer has lifted slightly, this I have already cut away, the foam core has a slight ridge/crease running from leading edge to tailing edge. It doesn't look to difficult or...

You have it backwards, Dean. The veneer is the strength, along with the leading and trailing edges, and any dihedral/joiner braces. All the foam does is hold it in shape! The 'bouncy' polyurethane foam wings are a different matter. In those, the foam is the strength, which is why they can be...

I have commented previously that I have to upload one pic, and 'insert' it, before I start the next, and limit to three pics. If I then 'send' it, then 'edit' I can add three more, and so on. As Sarah said, copy your text before you 'send' it, then if it goes toes-up, you haven;t lost all the work.

Can you not get a replacement direct from the manufacturer? There should be a code number in the paperwork.

Ok - I'm a nut case - but you already knew that - I love to try to rebuild crashed models that every one else has given up on. This particular model is one I've always had a thing about - and it's a pure model aircraft - a classic - AND a glider - no grotty IC - no buzzy hair dryers. A Bird of...

Oh! I love it - I really love it when the Dark Wizard has to say something complimentary about a Nitro Knight - I can hear him sobing into his Mills and Boone all the way down here in Australia. The poor fella has gone and tucked himself into his cupboard with half a dozen Lipos to recooperate....

This has been sitting around at the back of the hanger for months since it tried to play submarines. So I finally shamed myself into digging it out and getting it flying again. Lincoln 61 2 stroke - Yep it's a proper engine - 4 channels and it takes of with out porpoising which means I got the float...

I tried to load this before but some how it would accept the photos. Guess I buggered it up so this time I'll try a couple of posts to get it all in. I first found this model hanging from the roof of the local Hobby Shop. Made an offer and brought it home - fitted and old 61 2 stroke I had and it...

This Panic has had more crashes than all my other models put together --- all in noble combat I might add. So here it is again ready for testing: [attachment:1]C:\fakepath\Panic.JPG

Chaps I generally set the Panic's up with a 1800W Hyperion motor propped for 1150W static, which gives about 3.2Kg thrust. I've been running 3000mAh 25C 6S batteries which under normal flying gives up to 12 mins. Under 'combat' conditions I'm lucky to get 7 mins, and a show slot is 8 mins. It...
