Well as i found this lurking in the back of the shed whilst i was clearing it out, i thought it would be a good idea to finish it off. going to have a single pusher prop and dummy jets, no u/c and just elevator and ailerons. so i am hoping it will be nice and light....[image] At the moment it glides very...

Took some courage to do this but after having flown the model a few times to trim it out and check the range of the video transmission with anyone else who would wear the goggles...it was time to try it myself [video]

Been to several shows the last couple years and if there was one model that was purchased in volume and flown it was the RareBear. I think I helped start the craze when I filmed Azza Stephens flying the first RareBear with a 6S pack dropped into it. For those that don't know, this is a stock 4S...

Tony From the drawing it looks like you are proposing an internal 'structure' for the fuselage? I am not sure you need it as it will be a Depron 'box'. Just needs the odd Depron former to keep its shape. :P Only Depron (2 mm!) for the entire fuselage of my 40" span 'outdoor' Super Cub. ;)... [attachment]

well it was windy so the inevitable happened ,the wind caught it on landing and it cartwheeled taking the front end off and chucking the motor and mount out as well. The evening was spent playing with a jigsaw of bits finally completing the rebuilding task ready to rock and roll once more

Indeed you are right about just a kit of parts on it's own and that not many of us could even make a start..It would need to have written instructions and diagrams to go with it. What I was getting at is the outlines of some models are hard to reproduce and the bamboo can be a solution to to this...

The current tanks carry the hydrogen at either 5000 or 10000 psi and are made of high strength polymers that are claimed to resist any likely crash scenario and even bullets but they do seem to ignore the issue of fire resistance. I wonder what the 'cook off' time is for a polymer high pressure...
