Some stunning flying so far in the F3P comps, smooth and accurate. Some amazing demos too. Freestyle and aeromusical to come!!!
I want to see the aeromusical flying arrghhh, can't afford petrol for both days though. Big A they will still do that tomorrow wont they? Am not all au fait with the terminology, and looking on the timetable (and it not specifically saying aeromusical for thickos like me) I presumed it would with tomorrow being the finals of all the comps today? Music choices are erm different hehe

Am getting a tad worried at my memory retention of late, or lack ofI thought the swap meet was tonight at 8? If that is tomorrow at 8 instead then can still do both (can't find the thread with the info on can you mail me the address and details please Alan?)

alan cantwell wrote: Hmm, was the drive up the motorway and turn left not enough then?
sounds like your having fun, full report and pictures are wanted from an independent party, (thats You Sarah)
Because el stupido sat nav decided to tell me to get off at Oldham onto Manchester road, then proceeded to direct me to a load of road works which told me the left hand turn I wanted onto the A627 was not blocked due to said road works, diversion took me through Oldham town centre and a load of one way streets!! I did 25 miles around Oldham just going up and down trying to find a way to get to the M62!!
Was a brilliant afternoon, really enjoyed myself and watched some fantastic flying
The technical effort and control of the planes was fantastic, and the choreography to the music was really good -there are some incredibly talented flyers out there. One young lad I think was only about 13 years old (or so a couple next to me told me) and he deservedly won heaps of awards. I think the only thing I would have changed, and this is purely personal choice, would have been to dim the lights a bit for the planes that were equipped with lights so as to see the real effect of them but thats just for dramatic effect lol
Overall a brilliant experience and one I would recommend, you could tell that though it was a competition there was a really good feel of fun, enjoyment and friendly banter between the pilots making it more enjoyable to watch. Got chatting to a couple of guys as I was leaving who told me there is another event in March up North so will have a nosy later see if I can find it as am defo going again, and this time without delays of cooking, teenagers and pesky sat navs!!!
Will post a link to videos shortly, unfortunately I cant take very good stills with my phone camera but I can take videos and there are loads lol! Only stopped as battery was running low, may have to invest in a proper video camera thingie for future events!!
Big thank you to Big A for putting on this event and posting it here
