Did you find anything particular with the DLE?

Do it now, you may never get another chance

I have a problem, i took the DLE flying this morning, it is running a treat
But the exhaust came loose after one flight, iv had this problem with it for a while and not found a cure
its not the original silencer it is a wrap around one made for the engine, so when i put it back together while testing and tuning it i drilled the bolts that hold the exhaust and wired them together with piano wire, so there is no way they can turn and come loose, thought i had succeeded as when i tested it they stayed tight
But this morning after one flight it was loose again
How can that be ????

It's a long time since I played with a vibrating oil-burner, but if the bolts have definitely not turned, because they are wired, then it can only be the alloy they are screwed into is being 'eaten' by the stresses.
Can you fit longer bolts that go right through, with a captive nut on the other end - which therefore also cannot turn?

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

The bolts on the exhaust screwed up half a turn each, no way to put bolts all the way through, i think it is the silencer thats the problem, American made rubbish, i think its giving, got a picture Klipy but its on the ipad, if i can get it to work ill load it
The fuselage for the glider now that its glassed only weighs 727g, think thats good for a bulky 1600mm long fuse, not that im weight conscious, i had the scales in the shed weighing some weight to go in the revolver, going to try it without the large spinner and cowl, could be the spinner out of balance causing vibrations

The glider is all glassed now and sanded down ready for the primer filler to go on
Dropped a clanger this afternoon put the first layer of fibre gass on the canopy plug, and used the wrong resin got it well mixed up, i put polyester on instead of epoxy, the pink foam disappeared, i waited until it stopped reacting then gave it a very thick coat of p38 car body filler sand it tomorrow

The glider is now all primed but I'm disappointed on the finish, needs a lot more work on it :(

Looks pretty good to me. After all the full size is a wooden glider and was never 'full gloss' like the glass types.

The glider it all had its second coat of primer, so ill give it a light sanding then it should be ready for the final coat of gloss white
I hope
