the Cyprus 50" F3A Practice model was created by THE BLACKBIRD
After this mornings calamity im thinking of giving the lady mile where we fly a miss for the winter as the track we have to go over is full of big holes and its a mile and half long, not doing the car any good nor my pocket so i have a site about tow hundred yards away i think i can use, but it will have to be electric
I want to try and practice the F3A schedual as i dont like flying round and round like most of the warbirds iv seen, i need a goal to acheive
SO im going to draw a model on the bench and build it hence this thread, as i lost my gasses this morning im struggling to see what im doing
Might help my building :) :)
Wish you had a spell checker on here it would help me no end

Perhaps Mike needs to give you some advice on settings, whenever I make a spelling mistake it's underlined in red, and if I right click on it it gives me some suggestions! :)

Do it now, you may never get another chance

For the second time tonight i will try to post again, it was running for an hour and still did not post
A shortened version this time
Cut the ribs and started the build, as the wing leading edge and trailing edge both narrow at the wing tip as does the wing thickness i put tabs on the rib and am building it off the board

6mm ply braceing each side of the spare

Started the sheeting but ran out of 1/16th sheet , will try to find some tomorrow

Problem with it again tonight been running an hour since i pressed the submit button, so i had to cancel it and start again,
Laminated the fuselage sides and ply strentheners, then glued the formers straight on to the bench over the drawing a made

Cut out the tailplane and finand rudder, the tailplane is from 3/8th balsa and the fin and rudder i laminated two sheets of 3/16th together, i want to shape them all into an airfole section, and taper them to the tips

OK it worked,
This is where i am with it tonight the white foam i found on the road, thought i would fit it in the turtle deck to add some light weight strength,
But it might be in the way as i want to do pull pull system for the rudder and elevators

You could always hollow it out a bit, BB.

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

Having big problems without my glasses, having to use a pair i found in a hire car last time i was in the Uk. cant see to clear close up and they are giving me eye and head ache
Christ knows what the model will look like
I had a good days modelling today, outside in the sunshine nice and warm not a breath of wind, in my shorts and sandles. no shirt on B) B) B) B)
Dipped some balsa in the pool last night and curved it to fit the turtle deck at the rear

Then fit it

Glued some foam for the cowl as i want to make my own in glass, if i can, and the hatch which i will cover with balsa

While the fuselage was glued to the bench i glued the tailplane on and set it up level

shaped the foam to something like

Fit the fin and the wing, the wing is just a push fit at the moment but it will be pemanantly fix as i can get it in the car ready to fly

Starting to take shape
