Really pleased with Horizon Hobby! was created by Tom T
Hi All

Really pleased with Horizon Hobby right now..... I sent off my DX5e for repair after it fell off my desk during the night about 2 weeks ago. Anyway I just received it back in the post all repaired and completely free of charge! They repaired all of the toggle stick and installed a whole new antenna.

Anyone else used them and had the same experience?
Would recommend them to anyone that has Spektrum gear that needs repairing!

Couldnt agree more Tom. Had quite a few dealings with them. First one was when the trim packed up on the DX6i, they had it back in 3 days repaired, and enclosed 2 trims with a leaflet explaining how to fit them F.O.C. The second time was last year when I totalled 2 models in 2 weeks. The RX s were sent for checking even though they worked perfectly. Did they overhaul them , NO. They sent me 2 uprated brand new ones in the corect packaging brand spanking new, for as they put " Your peace of mind ". Total cost ZERO. They are brilliant.

Although irrelevant, now, I had similar service from Ripmax/Reftec, many years ago. I had been flying a model, when a weird gust hit the slope, and sent about half a dozen planes downwind in what could be best described as a scrambled heap, totalling several of the models.
When I found mine in the scrub, the 459 Megs radio was completely dead, but a swap for another rx showed it wasn't the battery or servos.
I sent the rx back, saying what had happened, and they sent a new replacement foc, no questions asked, even though the guarantee was well expired! If memory serves, I had it back in time for the next weekend session.

I have had several positive dealings with Horizon Hobby.
The first a quick tech issue and though the phone wait would have been long they had a call back service. They answered all my questions promptly.
The second was an online purchase, the checkout process was straight forward and delivery was received within a week.

Today I placed an order with Horizon Hobby for the PNP Radian Powered Glider and a 4ch receiver. If my past dealings with Horizon are an indication of what I may expect then I should receive the order late next week if not sooner.
Horizon Hobby's web site is nicely laid out and check out is straight forward. Being a repeat customer and signing into their site my Customer information was already on file. This made checkout a lot easier.
Within two hours of placing my order I received confirmation of order receipt and another E-Mail stating my order had been shipped which included a tracking number.

For now all there is to do is wait for delivery.

I have only used Spekrum and never had a problem with it, going on to a JR 11x now and i dont expect any problems with that,
I wonder how many times pilot error has been blamed on the radio ???

What type of problems did you have with Spectrum, and do you know what may have caused it?
