I noticed! :P I found some the other day, when having a sort-out - best before 2013, but it was Allinsons, and in a 125gm tinlet. (It now resides in the bin!) I tried all kinds to get a reliable mix, straight from the packet, mixed with sugar, even mixed with sugar in warm water, and allowed to...

Attended the first big gig of the year on Sunday at Ramsey Model Flying Club. Epic day and decided to be 'creative' with this, my first aero event video of 2017. 3 evenings to edit this together but was a lot of fun. [video]

Very true. They are much quicker at spooling up than when I got my first engine 4 years back. Other variable is where the throttle stick is, when you push it all the way up. From idle it does take what seems a long time but if you're at 1/3 to 1/2 throttle it's fairly quick.

I think it'll take a long time to win over the public but it'll only happen with their use for good as the speaker was sharing. Apologies for the relatively poor audio. I'm investing in a focus mic so it improves for next time I do this type of work.

Yeah, that is one thing that isn't clear EVEN if you are there and watching closely. The commentator doesn't shout it out despite it being recorded at the start/finish gate. Would improve the excitement if he did. As for where they are going...it's a tight multi-gate course. Next time I'll record...

The term "airship" probably best describes it. That is very low resistance to slow movement yet with substantial inertia. At slow speed there is little aerodynamic control. Get it wrong "low and slow" and coupled with a low thrust to inertia ratio means it takes time and distance to sort out.

Why not have the free flight scale at the free flight nats in my opinion where it should be. Kit scale is already held there and the main ff scale would be great in the evening with far less activity to detract from it as happens in August. Doug
