Just pulled the TN plan for the BAE HAWK from the mag, as I don't have much room at the moment to build
I thought I would blow it up by 10% and put a 90mm edf in it
So ill take the plan to the printer tomorrow to get it blown up and make a start on it next week as I have a few sticks of balsa around

Not as fast as I was before my last birthday Owen, sorry
Done a bit for you, but seem to have lost some pics in this new computer I had for my birthday, still trying to work it out :S
Drawn up the fuse sides and formers, sides in 6mm balsa and formers in 3mm light ply, that's the material that I have to hand

This is where im missing some pics of the cutting out and first assembly
So it jumps to this stage

Seems a bit chunky so I will see where I can lighten it a little, looking at the Dr Mad Thrust 80mm fan on a 6s 5000 lipo
as I have three of them left from the SR71

To my eyes, they always look like a leaping dolphin. :woohoo:

Cut the tail feathers and fin dry fit them

Then started on the wing

Sheeted the top

And built the ailerons and flaps, ill fit the bearers for the retracts and servos then sheet the bottom

Funny that Andy, it is one aircraft I have never wanted, so many of the about, but it was a free plan and it looked like it could be blown up to a turbine size model with some small mods :)

I didn't say it was a good looker BB, in fact I think it's a but stubby for a jet. But it was a magic aircraft to fly. Handling qualities were practically carefree and she could out-turn anything else the RAF could put up at the time. The field of view from the rear cockpit was excellent, which made it a joy to instruct on...need I say more. :) :)

A little more today, not much as I have not felt like modelling
Done the ply frames for the servos and the retract mounts, fun guy this TN, he has hardwood for the servo mounts and
6mm light ply for the retract mounts, I have put in hardwood for the retracts and my favoured method for the servos

Sheeted the bottom and the tip block and finished building the ailerons and flaps

Superb work as usual BB. But i would expect nothing less from you. I think your decision on the choice of wood is correct

Its been raining again today :( this is the sixth day on the trot we have had rain, mostly thunder storms but the one yesterday was the worst I have ever seen, never seen so much water come out of the sky, cut visibility down to about 35M and the lightning terrified the dogs, I was watching it out of the side window and bang, so loud I jumped back and slammed the window shut, we woke up this morning to beautiful sunshine as if nothing had happened but in the afternoon down it came again, and I was going flying tomorrow :(
So I built the other wing today got them sanded to shape, pictures would be the same as for the other wing so did not take any
Put it together

And opened the parcel that came this morning

So I need to decide what to do next with the Hunter, but it niggles me to pay all that money for a set of retracts
Got to think of another way

Joined the wing and finish sanding it and fitting it to the fuse

need some blue foam now so I can make the moulds for the canopy and air intakes and maybe the tank that fits beneath the fuse
about done the woodwork until I get the EDF unit, and I don't want to spend the money :( until I get a new turbine, and that's along way off yet,
Also the retracts for this thing are £75 so I think ill make a dolly to take off, as according to TN it don't hand launch to well
Also got one of these when I was in the uk, from China, amazing the way it fly's

And it is only as big as my camera lens all of £12 :woohoo:
