thinking of doing a scale biplane in depron and tissue.

1/4 scale would only make it a wingspan of 84", so not huge but big enough to add some good scale detail.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Andy you are naughty. :P

depron and tissue
Just remember you cant use any form of acetate dope to tighten/seal the tissue.

Thanks for the heads up Simon :)
Diluted ronseal floor varnish will work just as well.
i have used it before on open structures with no issues.

You can if you seal the Depron first - we've been using similar incompatible materials successfully in the FF world for some time. ;) ;)

i aim to cut the fuselage cores tomorrow and have an offer up for fixing.

can't glue anything yet until i have decided where all the bits will have to go, like servos and cable runs etc..

need a redesign of some of the formers already as i need to sort out the cabane structure.
so my thinking is to use a ply box made up from two formers braced with more ply stringers to handle the cabane and u/c mounts.
then glue the front and rear of the fuselage to this construction.
once the sheeting has been added and the outer stringers glued onto this, it should be strong enough for flying.
though only time will tell.

fun this biplane lark isn't it. :P

I must say I had not noticed - trust Eric to spot it!
The main title is now correct but the "Subject" heading (which appears on every post) still shows "sevices"
