Surprised it has taken them so long to come up with this . The thought occurred me when 9/11 happened .

We've been talking about this for a while now, but we didn't think it sensible to give people ideas & mention it on the forum.... obviously it's ok now that it's splashed all over the newspapers.
I did wonder if this is why BB kept having trouble flying near to an air base.... was he shot down as a security measure?
This isn't restricted to terrorists, anyone with a grudge against someone else could use a model in this way.... I can't see an easy way of avoiding it though.
Pol.

only if they are extremely paranoid and gullible or are already looking for an excuse to turf you out.

They may decide to ban model flying within X number of miles of any major target, but would a ban be any good? ... most terrorists would just ignore it & use FPV from a safe distance.
They could possibly somehow jam the radios within a certain distance of targets ... but I'm sure any decent radio engineer would just adapt to an illegal frequency.
It may come down to full time security watchers who happen to be good at clay pigeon shooting.

The wont need professional security watchers, a large section of Americans shoot at anything that moves.

Another thought - The US government want to control model aircraft fliers in a country where anyone can buy assault rifles and unlimited amounts of amunition. That seem a good way to deter would be terrorists.
