A while ago before my world crashed I bought one of these It finally arrived a week or 2 ago. My reasoning was I have around 20 RX's including Futaba, Corona, Redcon, Assan and Orange. Not to mention 6 FrSky, if this would work seamlessly I would never again have to buy another RX!
The Horus has 3 transmitter module choices which are selectable when you program a new model
1st is the internal mode, internal antenna which transmits through a flat plate type antenna on the back of the unit.
2nd is the external mode, external antenna which transmits through an antenna screwed into the top of the unit.
These 2 are collectively referred to in the manual as ixjt
The 3rd is a module bay on the back of the unit designed to receive bespoke modules, one in particular is a 900mHz long range unit. Anyway fitting is simple, remove protective cover and plug in the new unit. I had decided to test using one of my Assan RX's.
Switch on, select model (Liberty), press Mdl to go to programming and select RF System. In the RF page, switch off the internal and select External, it's an 8channel RX so select D8 and done! Put Bind plug in RX, switch on, nothing! But I did have a flashing red light on the TX module so I obviously had power. (the model select switches the power on and off)

In another life I had a very fancy Oscilloscope that my Boss insisted we buy. It was delivered and I spent the entire morning trying to make it work! I was finally forced to reach for the (very thick) instruction manual. There on the first page was the legend "there, you haven't made it work so try reading this!"
Back to the non working IrangeX module, reading the instructions tells me that I will get a flashing red light if it's getting signals it can't understand, the single sheet also tells me my TX needs to output a PPM signal (Pulse position modulation as opposed to the PWM, Pulse width modulation we normally use) OK, how do I do that? The Horus manual is vague about this other than PPM signals can be PPM+ or PPM- so I went back to watch the GP! During the night I had a Eureka moment which went roughly, PPM is only required for the external module so must be available from the RF SYSTEM menu. Back to the TX, could I find a setting, could I ell! I don't like changing stuff willy nilly since that's how you blow stuff up! In desperation I decided to page through the setting that set maximum channels, bingo, the last 2 available items are PPM+ and PPM-. PPM+ selected and voila, red light now solid, YES

Do it now, you may never get another chance

Perusal of the instructions tells me that for Assan I need

Position 15 of the selector.
It doesn't all end here because the Assan pairing (binding) procedure requires that the RX be switched on first with the Bind plug in, then the TX with the Bind button pressed. Yes both ends! I had forgotten this!
Ah ha, solid red light plus correct Bind procedure and the RX went green! Everything working. I've since checked my other models that use FrSky RX's and they work through the IXJT. My error was in assuming that selecting D8 was correct, it wasn't that chore has now been taken over by the IrangeX.
I'll keep you posted as to how the other RX's work but all should be good.

Now that is a really useful piece of kit Klippy ! What is it with men & instruction manuals ! I have a good system when building anything a bit complex, ring my daughter. She reads the instructions & I build it, seems to work.
