This amused me.
A test ditching of a specially strengthened B24.
Technically the pilot did not make too good a job of it as he let the tail drop too far so it pitched up and dropped the nose almost splitting the fuselage in half just behind the cockpit.
Nevertheless like any cool young man of the period the first thing he did after climbing on top of the fuselage was get out his comb! (3.55)
