Was not going to start this until later, as my hanger is in such a mess due to the removal of the critters in the roof space, but see as it is so quite on here thought I would make a slow start
Starting with the fuselage formers
Whether I can get the pics to load is another mater
Can I have the old site back please
That did not work, three different pictures loaded, and look what I got
I hare this new site

Ah, the Pirat (no 'E', these foreign yurrupeeens can't spell!) - not a terribly efficient glider, if I recall, but the model makes a great slope-soarer.

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

4m span is big!
Strictly not quite 1/4 scale as the full size was only 15m.
I have actually flown a full size SZD Pirate a few times.
A popular all wood glider but later in its life suffered glue problems causing de lamination so in 1970 its maximum permitted speed (VNE) was significantly reduced and aerobatics prohibited, which rather limited its usefulness to gliding clubs.

I think you will find there is an E in this PIRATE Eric, although i did get my SZD mixed up,
Im not moaning about it being hot, you'l never here me complain about the heat, just stating the fact that its very hot just under the tin roof where my head has been for the past few days
English through and through ;)

You can certainly see why it was abbreviated to SZD. How on earth do you pronounce Szybowcowy Zakład Doświadczalny (Glider experimental works) unless you are Polish!
A classic case of the 'benefit' of communist state control as SZD gliders became a major designer & supplier for both club and competition gliders producing several thousand from 1956. The business struggled on after the fall of the communist government in Poland but ceased trading in 2007.

As you may have seen, BB, I'm having the same problem, half of MY pic's won't attach either, and they're all the same size.
I've found it easiest to put the pic's on first, then if they 'stick', I edit, and add the text after, then all the typing isn't wasted!
Perhaps Pol will give Mike a kick, and he can sort it out.

Just in case it is something to do with this post here is a picture. This text was written before the picture was inserted using the add files button rather than the drop files here option.

This text was written after the picture was inserted.
Size is 750 x 563 px.

Edit
It has worked so the issue appears to be due to some part of the process you are using.

Possibly, Simon, but I was using the add files button, too. Strange how three pics were accepted, but the fourth one wasn't, all from the same camera, and reduced to the same size by the same 'editor'. I even deleted them all, and put that one on first, and the pc locked up, and wouldn't play.
That one pic wouldn't even attach in a completely fresh post, several hours later.

The original did not have flaps, but i was wondering if the would be any use for altering the airflow over the wing to get more lift if needed
still no pictures, i need to down load from my ipad to this comp but cant seem to be able to, been told it is because the comp is HP and the ipad Apple, im taking pics with the ipad but cannot use for writing

At 4 mtrs span, I don't think you will need flaps. Airbrakes/spoilers would be of more use! :woohoo:
