Well done. I could see it was still trying to stall, when the power was off, with the pitching up, slowing, and swerving. It has a very gentle stall, though!

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

I managed several more flights yesterday with the extended nose and it now flies quite well. Loops. rolls and ,yes, unlimited vertical. It never flies particularly fast but with any flap set it does fly very slowly indeed.
My only gripe is it sounds awful! The props themselves are remarkably quiet so particularly at part throttle all you hear is the noise of the out of sync high speed motors amplified by the structure. When the motors were in the wing it did not seem to be nearly as bad.

I did manage a landing at full flap but it was almost at the limit of the control throw.
The elevator linkage needs adjusting to give a bit more 'down'.

Next flight will be videoed hopefully demonstrating the full flap range.

Got there in the end!
An edited video of yesterdays flight including a full flap approach and landing. Note the landing ground run!

Not quite a 'perfect' approach but not too bad for the first time with full flap.

With a bit of practise it will actually fly with full flap and with just a gentle breeze it can 'hover' but the low air speed does mean wind shear close to the ground is significant.

It is a really good example of the effect of the sudden loss of airspeed.

Masterful piece of experimental building and design and yes - a scale up would be interesting! Bloody well done Quorneng. :)

It's a lot more stable in pitch (and roll) with that longer nose.
Well done.

Fantastic bit of experimenting.
Looks like it has been a whole load of fun getting to this stage. B) B)

Thanks for the kind words but 100":woohoo:
It would not go in my car  and I hate two piece wings.
I have a mind to go to 80" but at the weight I build who needs flaps.;)
