It wouldn't be hard to fit a carbon spar .... or does it already have one?

Pol.

It already has one that i put through the center of the wings :woohoo:

Do a bit of googling or youtube -ing & see if you can find any other similar complaints, he may have just had a damaged spar ..... You could always tissue & Poly C the wings for extra strength if you're that concerned. :)

Pol.

I will have a look around but it doesn't really bother me that much. If the wings come off they come off... aha I will just have to go gently with this model :D

I don't think that you're meant to fly a Cessna like that.

Sad end, but it saved him from attempting to land it over all those parked cars and that white painted building! I wouldn't have chosen to fly anything from that space they have there! A few more feet away, and it would have gone into that compound, and maybe that shed, too.

That is NOT the way to fly a Cessna. The outcome was obvious from the first minuite of the video. The pilot was flying it like a lunatic, and what a stupid place to fly from. Safety was very good, a dog walking about off lead with a model taxing about in the pitts ??? Those sort of videos do nothing but harm to the hobby.

Had he been flying that at Langar, he would have been asked to leave the club and not return.

If you watch the slo-mo at the end of the clip, in large-screen, you can see that the wing folded, then detatched from the fuz.

I can't help thinking it was overpowered too.

Overpowered of not Owen, the pilot? could still have cut the throttle by half. That was silly flying, and in my book very dangerous.

I agree, it was extremely dangerous and stupid of them to upload the video.... they will get shut down soon enough. Although I have seen another manufacturing company do the same thing with the same product. This time the wings didn't fall off though....(** warning** you may want to skip to 2:00..... his talking may destroy your ears.. it did mine :woohoo: )
here is the video to it...

Maybe they are designed to fly that way? I think I would prefer to see it flown scale....

Looks like a nice model you have there Tom.
Apart from the numpty in the first video it seems to fly really well and it is a nice size.

Somebody called me 'pretentious' the other day.

I nearly choked on my latte.

Hello all.

Hope you are all well? I have decided it's about time I sort out where I am going with this hobby and my life etc.... so here is my first decision....

CESSNA FOR SALE

RTF, 55" wingspan, only flown once for a test flight, slight hangar rash on the tail and wing but does not change flight characteristics. Comes with battery and charger (shaver charger socket but if I can find the adapter :S I use I will include that) Going to open this as an auction so there is no set price but there is a reserve! Will be advertising it elsewhere as well so it won't hang around for long. Pictures are as follows

Thanks!
Tom

Are you selling up, Tom, or just focussing on one section?

Oh no, I'm not going anywhere just yet! :woohoo: Just selling a few bits to fund other bits etc, after an electric BNF Warbird for Barkston Warbirds 14th-15th April if anyone is interested in that event? I am a member there so thought might as well fly... Just need the cash really.
