I fear that you will be sadly disappointed by that Ryobi.

I had the 32 (?) cc version and it produced, after some tweaking, exactly the same power as the Zenoah 23. Mine swung an 18 x 6 at about 6,500 rpm as I recall. It would be a very substantial power increase, if it were to swing an 18 x 8 at 7,000.

Be interested to hear your experiences with this engine.

Thoght you were wait training for a minute.Looks a good kit will enjoy the build.Never seen a Galaxy kit before. At the Nats tried to buy a built up model but someone in front of me was time wasting so I gave up waiting and bought other stuff.

Well what can i say, thank you all for a warm welcome of my return :)

bogbeagle
its good to hear some input on the ryobi's
Its ok i have that same fear, there are 28's out there that achieved 7000rpm & a little more, i'm looking at increasing the compression by lowering the cylinder .025" also fabricating a exhaust with larger outlet & a carb venturi increase to .400"
giving the reed stop a further 1/8" play should also perk things up.
the other size is 31cc i have one of those too, it was poorly converted by who ever owned it before me so needs a little work, I chose to try the 28cc because it is much more compact has smaller top two cooling fins & they are thinner than the 31cc its definitely lighter, i'll be shaving all the unnecessary bits off the crank case, I did worry that they would only be suited to a big hi wing floater then i see a video on you tube (Sbach 342 gets a Ryobi RC conversion 31cc) & i decided to give it a crack, if all fails its another lesson learned & the super tigre 2000 is still in the engine cupboard :cheer: if the R28 don't achieve 7000 it wont be going up front of the acro & i will have to overcome my fears of the dreaded big super tigre back flip :S
i cant help but add a little RYOBI inspiration

Galaxy went out of business a few years ago, so finding the plans will take some hunting.
Best of luck.
