Depron 109 for both Free Flight and RC. was created by Ex-Member
hello gentlemen and ladies.
As i am waiting for ply and bits for the meteor and as the small rubber FF 109 is nearly finished and i don't like to be idle or finish other projects. :P
I have started another build.
Medium sized 109 for either rubber/electric FF or RC, depending on what mood takes me.

48" wingspan,
All Depron again.

pics and more info to come as i plod on with the build and design.

Take some 3mm Depron and cut out the centre keel.
then start cutting formers from off cuts of 6mm depron.

Cut the nose off in front of where F1 will fit ( this has to be 6mm ply and in one piece, it will be fitted last.) and cut a long slot to take the rubber motor tube.

Then add more formers and cockpit floor.

Thats it for now.
more tomorrow unless my depron comes in and i will be back to the meteor.

No Depron delivery yet, soooooooooooooo

i cut out the tailplane parts and glued them together.

then i cut out the fin sections and glued them together.

and finally i planked some of the fuselage half.

Started adding the formers to the other side now and will plank that half tomorrow.
then i can start on the wings.

Planking! :P :P
The issue using constant chord planks on a tapered fuselage is some of the planks have to be twisted to get them to fit and this can distort the half shell. It may or may not be corrected when the planks are added on the other side.

i weighted the fuselage half down while planking and when i lifted it it held true, so fingers crossed it will be ok.

I have decided that this will be the RC version, so i have made the lipo tray and glued the nose on.
finished planking the front of the fuselage.

started the canopy.

fitted the under wing rads and made one air intake.

The canopy will lift off to access the rx and i still have to make the battery hatch.

Not the greatest of days today.

Still i got the wing tips shaped and some more covering on and even a little bit more paint.

i think the canopy will be hinged and held shut with a magnet to help fit the rx better.
