Very nice Ralph BTW does that mini wing(let) make it a sesquiplane?

Anything will fly given enough power

Hysol is an excellent epoxy for glass fuselages and in my view the only suitable epoxy for this purpose and I've tried a fair few of them. Most do stick but with a bit of vibration or sharp knock come lose and with a £2500 plane i'm not prepared to trust anything else. :S :S

The canaliser (wing on the top of the canopy) is quite a size. I'm not sure at what size it becomes a bi-plane!! [badass]

Hopefully I will complete the build tomorrow. Just got to fit the wing incidence adjusters and a little bit of wiring to do. I'll post some photos. Then its a wait for the weather to clear up so I can maiden her.

I'm currently unsupervised. I know it freaks me out as well, but the possibilities are endless!!

99% complete. Just waiting for the epoxy to dry on the canopy securing lugs and she's ready for the maiden.

Electronics are in - Rx, telemetry module and Optiguard

Wing incidence adjusters are in. This took a bit of effort in that I had to jig the plane up and set the incidences so i knew where to fit them. By turning the set screw the black piece rises or falls. A carbon tube epoxied into the wing fits into the hole in the black bit so each wing pivots around the wing joiner tube. Another carbon rod (adjustable and with a securing bolt) from the fuselage going into the rear of the wing secures the incidence.

Then did a trial fit of batteries and did a motor run. Couldn't get the motor to turn despite the ESC arming. :( So messed with the throttle trim still no joy. Reprogrammed the ESC still no joy. So went and had a cuppa. Came back and set the throttle on max, armed the ESC closed the throttle then gave her a bit of throttle and hey presto motor runs! Clearly the ESC was looking for the high and low setting. :woohoo: I thought the ESC programmer would do that. All sorted now.

So that's it. Just need the weather to improve at the same time that i'm not working and see if she flies or becomes a very expensive lawn dart!!. I'll let you know how it goes either way!

I'm currently unsupervised. I know it freaks me out as well, but the possibilities are endless!!

As I said above it might qualify as a sesquiplane ====== www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-i...uiplane+definition&* it seems to fit the bill . Can't wait for the maiden. Regards John

The idea of the canard or second wing is that it helps the airflow over the fin and tail plane, all the top F3A boys have them when flying monoplanes, but there is a lot of biplane and even a treble wing in F3A now,

The extra bits also create more drag, which is useful in the vertical down gyrations!

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

Big day tomorrow, its going to get its maiden flight. :woohoo: I have checked everything, checked again and will have it checked by others before committing it to aviation.

Fingers crossed. :S  :S

EA9466, about £16 a pack. There is a 9462 which is more expensive, but believe it or not, not as suitable for this type of modelling.

This isn't your standard epoxy. It comes in a twin tube pack with mixing nozzle. The 'gun' to push the two components out of the tube is sold separately for £30!!! Well I don't use that or the mixing nozzle I just dispense it myself by pushing down on each tube the same distance, roughly it is 2:1 mix. Not had a failed bond yet.
