Well Gary once I get her holding the buddy box and she can fly circuits ,then I can start videoing how she is doing. The Swift will be ideal.Do you know what she had planned,to clean her mums house,at least I got a flight in.Now back to topic.Ive planned to stat in tomorrow until the replacement swift arrives. Then Ill build it straight away

The replacement Swift arrived this morning and once a couple of jobs were dealt with i was ready to put it together.I thoroughly examined the model as I unpacked itand had a good look at the offending front wing support.Im just going to photograph and show you.I have started my mod, also, but when I was ready on the patio it started to rain.it stopped straight away,so whilst the glue was drying I put it all outside, sat down and it started to rain again

You can see that its one ply piece with an additional piece glued at the top. There was nothing to inspect after it failed,I think the whol piece was gone.Ive added fillets down the sides on bothe sides of it and when the wing is fitted, leaving the top panel off Ill see if I can strengthen the cross piece.Any suggestions gratefully received.Ill photo the wing in position when its done for you perusal

That top piece has no support from the fuz sides and in a high G turn it would pull straight out.
They could at least have made that a "one piece" full square former .... what they've done is pathetic & looks like they've just been trying to use up scrap bits of wood.

Pol.

I just own the forum .... you guys make it great thanks.

could you put triangular fillets in at the top (top as in the way the pic is up) to spread any load further into the fuselage length.
