Any experience of a DB Mascot trainer?...

Hi all, I have nearly finished preparing a DB Mascot trainer that I bought very cheaply from a club member who has passed all that stuff now. I am fitting an Enya 35 in it.
Has anyone here any experience of this kite? It looks like it should do fine and this particular model has a good flight history apparently. Well, it's still in one piece, that is!

I've answered this elsewhere, but there a super model, don't think DB ever designed a duff model?
personally I think you'll learn much quicker using it than a wot 4.

As I've said in the Gone flying thread, I clumsily broke the fin mounting putting the Mascot in the car! Big tail feathers, small car, excuses, excuses! I'll have that fixed this afternoon.
Then, like a Klutz I omitted to put a prop washer and a spinner on it. I can make a prop washer today, but a spinner needs to be ordered, dammit!
THEN, finally it should be ready to give to a club member to test fly and trim for me.

If the engines run in it should hand start quite easily, I had a enya ss40 years ago, took a long time to bed in but after that normally started within a few flicks.

Well, I'm happy to flick it, but if I'm asking someone else to test fly and trim it for me they will attack it with a starter and expect a spinner. I checked the cost of a spinner and bought an M7x1mm tap. I'll make the spinner!

Nobody seemed to know that at the club, Eric. Anyway in yesterday's mucky weather I made the backplate for a plastic spinner out of aluminium and threaded the holes to take some 4-40 thread Allen screws I had left over from a restoration of an American slot racing car. The whole thing is now mounted on the Enya 35 and waiting for flying weather.
