Electric?? You're looking at a 6S 5000mah pack minimum! With a motor like a car starter motor - to turn a 16" prop - possibly larger.

What does the empty airframe, as it is now - weigh?

My Ripmax 'Bullet' - a foot or so shorter in both length and span, 12 x 6 prop, and very lightly built - is barely adequate on a 4S 3300, and that's only because a bigger pack won't fit into the available space!

At a quick look, the smallest motor I'd consider would be - PROPDRIVE v2 5050 580KV Brushless Outrunner Motor
which will cost about £60 - and then you want a 100 amp speed controller, another £50 or so and the battery - Rhino 5000mAh 6S 50C Lipo Battery Pack w/XT90 - about £60 EACH, and you would need at least three, because to charge them from a 12v car battery would take an hour or more each.


These are from Hobbyking, so you would have to wait for them to come across on the slow boat from China, now the UK warehouse is effectively closed.

Then you will need a charger that can handle these big batteries - and somewhere to store and charge them that is NOT in your house!
And - as mentioned previously, various other bits of kit for monitoring the charge state, the load being applied to the speed controller and battery, etc, and assorted spares!
I'm guessing - you are looking at most of £1000 to get this model into the air - starting from where you are now, no parts, and an empty airframe.

On top of all that, as has been said previously, unless you are skilled in flying big, fast, agile scale models, and have a suitable place TO fly it, it will last about six seconds before it converts itself into scrap!

It may sound as though we're turning you away, we're not, but you need to know all the pitfalls. Too many models have been trashed and as a result way too many potential RC modellers lost to the hobby.
