BMFA Scale Newsletter was created by Ex-Member
The latest BMFA Scale Technical Committee Newsletter has been published on the BMFA Scale website. The 20 pages include reports on BMFA Scale FF, RC, and CL meetings, new rules for next year's events a programme of events for the remainder of this year and a preview of Indoor events for early next year. There is also news of new Scale Indoor events next year - Scale RC Indoor and Scale Indoor free flight gliders.

Sorry to sound really stupid but what exactly is meant by Bostonian Andy? I cant find anything that describes what exactly it is apart from some build plans of them/it?

I wish I was a glow worm, a glow worm's never glum.
Cos how can you be grumpy when the sun shines out your bum?!

Hi Sarah,

It's a duration contest for semi-scale models based on the following rules. If you want to enter other Bostonian contests, check their rules fIrst as they do differ from event to event.:


- Maximum wingspan 16 inches
- Maximum wing chord 3 inches
- Maximum overall length 14 inches (thrust button to rear extremity)
- Minimum weight 14 grams (without rubber)
- Maximum prop diameter 6 inches
- Capable to rise off ground At least two wheels
- Fuselage must contain a ‘box’ space of 1.5 x 2.5 x 3.0 inches and must have a transparent front and side windows of at least 1 inch x 1 inch
- Commercial one piece plastic prop. May be cut down to the appropriate diameter but other alterations to be on one blade only for balance.
Flights are to be rise off ground.
Total airborne time to count, whole seconds only. (i.e. 64.8 secs = 64).
Any number of fights may be made, total of best three for the final score.
