Okay,
I picked up a damaged tent for £7 last year in Tesco, I've covered one model in it which I ended up digging out of the ground, I'm refurbing an old kit so thought I'd use it again.
It's easy to use but has a waterproof backing so the traditional dope and thinner method of attaching it is no good so I decided to give the frame a couple of coats as usual but use a heat shrink iron to fix it, wow.....poo to a blanket springs to mind!I

It does curves well!
That'll do, ready for dope. It's actually already sealed by the backing but it'll soak up fuel if I don't.

I vaguely recall a tip - when doping nylon, turn the piece over, so any surplus dope pools on the outside,where it can be teased off or spread out! - (depends on how 'fast' the dope in the can is, compared to the dope with the brush!)

That finished wing looks just like solartex. It reminded me that I once repaired a tent where the pole got punched through the apex. I ironed on a piece of 'tex. It is still attached, and as far as I know, watertight! The tent hasn't been used for nearly 30 years - why I kept it, I don't really know!
