Never had a problem with Futaba servos whatever vintage and new ones often sound rougher.

Maybe because they're new, i,e, new and tighter geard and bearings etc.

Started the dreaded covering today.
rudder, tailplane, elevators and nose covered.


still don't like iron on covering, but i have to master it. so i will plod on.

Fuselage is covered now.
not the greatest of jobs, but it looks ok from a distance.

waiting for servos and motor now, so i will be stalled till they turn up.
just using normal large size tom from giant shark.

Never buy second-hand radio gear ... imo.

Post 33. They look as if they have had a hard life, I would not use them in other than a model I did not really care about.

not looked at it today, had house maintenance to do.
but i did find that the covering had bubbled where it was sat on the bench in the sun, re shrunk it.
hope this is not going to keep happening.
servo's turned up today, so if i am allowed in the shed tomorrow, i might try to finish the fitting out.

Well after cutting some logs for the winter i got into the shed.
rudder and elevators fitted, hinges all pinned as well.
the twin elevator servo's are in and all connected up.
got a problem with the pull pull set up for the rudder, the wires are not long enough to enable me to get the servo on the cog point, so i will need sort out some fishing trace wire at the weekend to re do it.


Tail wheel is fitted.
wing bandage is now setting and then i can sort the ailerons and cover the main wing.

spats are fitted and drying.


been a long day with not a lot to show for it, this is the reason i hate fitting out, takes ages to do very little.
hence i have loads of models at this point and then forgotten about.

what to say about today.
not a lot i expect.
u/c is back on.
pull pull on the rudder is sorted and working.
motor is mounted
cowl is on.
canopy is trimmed a bit more.



slopped a bit of paint about.
need a second coat on the cowl.


the wing bandage has set fine, so i can do the aileron servo's later and then cover the wing.
got to sort out a battery tray and fit the esc and rx, job done.

Well done Tony, you dont hang about, do you ??? LOL
