The top one is my exact model.I genuinely feel it helped my flying a lot.3 channel and a real floater so it enabled me to become confident in getting the model down a long way out and flying it in gently otherwise it would want to go round for another lap.So it taught me to land without running out of time it was all done so slowly,builds the confidence up dor low approaches..Ill take your advise and bring it in from the cold and have a deliberation.Have 2 cars to clean but It looks cold out.

Hi Tony I was trying to get some background information about the Super Scrpion but keep finding my own thread on RCM anE.Im not sure but I believe the model was originally designed by an American Spitfir pilot in 1942,who was killed during the war.If you look at the model inthe air the wing is Spitfire shaped.It was then kitted by Keil Kraft but Im not sure if it was them that brought out the bigger Super Scorpion.I acqiured my first Super Scorpion in 2009 from a model shop in Andover.It was £40 with an OS 40 Surpasse 4 stroke.The previous owner had passed away and it was a bit used and fuel stained.I fitted it with new servos and loved it from the moment I owned it.Im sure it improved my flying.The engine became noisey but i bought another engine on E bay An old Saito 40.It was expensive and rubbish.I sent it away and had new bearings fitted but havent quit got it right so havent used it.I fitted another engine in it but its handling meant I always had loads of down and really needed to trim it out properly.The engine kept coming loose on the bearters and when I removed the metal engine mount discovered the engine bearers were rotten and crumbling away.I managed to buy another Super Scorpion on E bay in much better condition and swopped everything over but after a few flights the fuselage almost collapsed.This evening I visited the shed and brought the second one back up.Ive glued to places for tonight and will work out whats to be done tomorrow.The battery is almost built in and needs replacing,so that will be my first task to see how I can get it out.Ill do some photos soon ,I have some in a album in RCManE and if anyone can tell me if there is a way I can get them here or do it for me I would appreciate the help.

Thanks Tony I only managed the one Ive moved another one into my computer but dont know how to find it.Ive taken photos today of where Im at

The black battery was wedged in the front but wasnt very powerful,so Ive managed to remove it and replace it with the blue one that slots in nicely and can be held in plave with foam.The red and beige is the newer fuselage needing repair at the front.I havent a clue where the parts are for it.There should be a servo tray,a fuel tank and the mount for the fuel tank.The serco horn snapped off anf its pull pull on the rudder but I gently sqeezed the tubes on the cable and they cam loose easily.The fuselage has lost a lot of the supports on the side bottom and top but I think I can replace them without removing much of the covering sort of keyhole surgery relly .Then I need to glue rails in for the servos.I will probably use the servos from the black and beige fuselage.I have 3 wings as a mate gave me a white one when he scrapped his Scorpion.

First of all you have to get your priorities right so clear what you can into the sink and use the kitchen

So on Sunday whilst waiting for a potential customer I started removing stuff from one Super Scorpion and fitting it into the other..I started by swopping the engine over ony took a couple of minutes because the engine mount plate originated from the Red one.Then I decided on the placement of the tank held in position with a cable tie.After that I fitted the elevator down low in the fuselage and the throttle and rudder servos above.All there is to do now is to refit the windows

I actually just used the block off the tank mount

Ive set the elevator with a lot of down because they usually need it.

The only problem I have is the front u/c wire seems loose and Im hoping by having fitted extra bracekts to the back wire itll be OK The front wire is secured deep in the fuselage and you cant get to it.
