After my reasonable success in carving a wooden propeller recently I've decided to build the rest of the model, I know very little about building and flying rubber powered models so this should be a interesting (for me) project.
First job was to complete the prop assembly, the spinner is constructed from 2 discs of hard 1/32 balsa and the cone shape built up from rings of soft sheet, 3/32 was the softest I had to hand.
after a good sanding it's time cover it in tissue and dope ....watch this space.

Fuselage is complete, looks more like a weird boat at the moment, formers are 1/16th, stringers 3/32 and the nose is planked in 1/32, a little fiddly but satisfying.

tail feathers built today along with the undercarriage legs and wheels.
u/c plugs into rolled paper tubes glued into the fus.
tail needs shaping and sanding then it's the wing....

Well that's the major construction finished, still needs a light sanding, wing fairing is definitely not my finest but in my defence the plan is absolutely terrible, the worst I've ever worked from but seeing how it was drawn in 1942 and has undoubtedly been traced, copied etc many times I'll forgive it.

Finished!! the covering is frankly awfull but I've run out of patience with the stuff, need to think about the next project now.
