Four planes on a UK airfield - any ideas?

The two on the right look like Lockheed P80 Shooting Stars, the two on the left could be Republic F84 Thunderstreaks

but what are they doing on a disused airfield in Cumbria?

That is RAF Spadeadam, it is an electronice warfare/weapons range. The straight winged aircraft on the right are Lockheed T33's and the ones on the left are Dassault Mystere's. They did have Hunters up there with modded noses and wingtips to simulate Su-7's and a few other onscure types. The airfield itself is not active other than for use by helicopters,Army units and the like but the EW centre itself is still very much alive!

There used to be quite a few aircraft decoys/targets up there but they have slowly been scrapped. It is a vast installation and there are still quite a few derelicts lying around, it is used by all our armed services aswell as many foreign visitors. The last time i was there, which was 4 years ago now i took a vehicle out to get a closer look at the aircraft, as you can imagine they are in a sorry state.

I first spotted them whilst looking at the "UK airfields" overlay.

The text for the now disused Brunton airfield (on the east coast) said it 'worked with Spadeadam' but interestingly there was no airfield recorded at Spadeadam, which was surprising as the overlay is extraordinarily comprehensive and highlights every other known airfield (including seaplane launching ramps!) in the UK whether still visible on not!
A search of the area showed a clearly visible classic 'triangle' runway layout with those 4 jets parked.
Officially Spadeadam obviously did not have an airfield but then in the 1950s I expect 'officially' the whole 9000 acre site did not exist either as they were testing the Blue Streak missile!

The 'airfield' at Spadeadam is purely dummy to test airborne radar!
