I just thought i would share with you a bit of history i witnesed back about25 years ago. my good buddy Jack and i went out to the Comox Air Base in Comox BC Canada (where i grew up) we met up with a crazy Swedish friend of ours named BON, (don't know if that was his real name). He had invited us to take a look at the project he had been hired to do. Bon was a Swedish Aircraft technition and fabricator,. very skilled individual. we went into the shop to find a half built Spitfire.
he first showed us the remains of the aircraft that was salvaged which was nothing but a pile of twisted broken pieces. i think it was crashed in africa somewere but am unsure. what he had built to that point was amazing. he had the airplane about half built. everything formed by hand. that man was so skilled.
Bon died of cancer and the project stalled. a company form eastern Canada took on the project under the agreement that someday the Spitfire would fly back to Comox for the public to see.
