Centrifugal clutch and starting method

This is an initial info gathering excercise at the moment.

I could never afford an RC helicopter back in the day, and my catalogues of the period are well out of date.

I have a g/fibre perkasa kit in the loft which is the only IC powered boat subject that interests me.

Ideally a petrol powered recoil start marine motor with a centrifugal clutch would be good.

Where could I search for helicopter parts please ?

I have a merco 61 marine engine that could be "petrolised" but would need a centrifugal clutch.

I have mulled over even an electronic magnetic clutch, they have been used on car fans, so could handle the power transfer...

I have even thought if glow/petrol powered electric generator powering an electric motor etc.....maybe too much to go wrong.

An electric start system would also be nice, but complex.

I did make a pull start device similar to that on top of a seagull o/b motor, whulich did work ok.

Weight has to be watched but will make a trailer when the time comes.

So, best place to look at/for modern helicopter IC parts please ?

What you need is a centrifugal clutch from a 1/5th scale rc buggy, or get your wallet out and buy a Zenoah boat motor, comes with a pull start and clutch.

Most RC boats do require some sort of reverse capability. A bit more 'mechanism' to think about.
There is a danger you will be adding complexity and weight that might make it an expensive option.

Would love to just buy a ready made option....I don't have enough jam jars for that...

Viscous now but in the past an electronic clutch was used.

Air con compressor in car uses electro clutch I think, but I cannot touch the one on the car as it's needed...

A reverse on the boat, could/would be needed at some point, sods law says so...

Car clutch, motors and rotors, will check them out...

I hope the guy showing interest in the huntsman and sea commander actually buy them so I have some funds for the pakasa...

Trailer, cos it's a large heavy model boat. The trailer may have to have a crane as well...
