Dean's Deagostini Spitfire

Coming on OK reminds me of the rubbing down and shaping the ends of the wings took me ages.

The bad news is a mate at the flying club spent over £600 buying this D'Agostini spitfire on a weekly basis some years ago.He brought it to the club nearly finished and it was explained the Leo engine was rubbish.He brought it to the field yesterday with an sc 70 4 stoke and it looked good.After a successful noise test and final checkover , the rear wheel snapped off when put down gently. S0 change it for a conventional one Dean.However undeterred our WW2 pilot was still convinced he could get it off the ground. 2nd point Dean Bend the under carriage forward it tips its nose to easily when the U/c is in the stated position. He still had to add weight to the front and an aluminium spinner helps here,So lined up for take off.Take off was perfect and only a small amount of down had it flying straight and level. He really rang its neck with loops rolls low passes and it looked really good.He declared it a brilliant model to fly and my mate was very very pleased.

I will now use a different tail wheel and bend the mains a bit.
Good to hear it was quite nice to fly I was a bit worried, As me and Tony discussed at the NATS it weighs a ton!!!!
plus it now gives me a bit of a positive about it as i was starting to lose interest in it.

I bought one off a friend for £100 and built it. It was an exercise in building for me. I built mine electric but when I finished it decided I would never have the skill to fly it.I stripped it all out and gave it away.Now Im feeling Im getting to the level where I can fly a warplane.I fly the Harmon Rocket on the edge both ways . Flat out and with the SC 52 it goes very well and very very slow where sometimes I have it on the edge of a stall. I practise low flying slowly pushing it so I have to save it.

I have sold it, it was collected tonight another part built Deagostini spitfire sold on
I just couldn't get enthusiastic about it so now getting funds together for something I can get enthusiastic about.

yeah mine has been stuck in the corner for ages now.
i dont think i will be finishing it either.

so what ya doing next then.

I am desperate to finish the Kavalier off and carry on with the Puppeteer. Then I think either balsa usa 1/4 cub or a plan build of something similar size can't decide.

I sold mine on ebay. got quite good price for it to.
