Is the Telemaster yours (where do you put it?) or are you building it for someone?

got the fun job of sitting down on the floor with 10 miles of plans and try to work out what wood i need to buy at the nats.
it's all in imperial, so i will have to convert everything to metric and make a HUGE list.
bound to forget something though.
might need an artic to get the stuff back home. :P

Have you seen this one on YouTube? It is Electric powered although it is the ARTF version

Somebody called me 'pretentious' the other day.

I nearly choked on my latte.

i spent an hour last night with the 10 sheets of plan trying to work out what wood i need.
its all in imperial measurements :P
got a rough idea now, but i expect i will miss something and have to order it later.
still i should be able to get the basic frame done fairly quickly.
might get 3 ribs cut from each sheet of balsa if i am lucky.

At that size I would have thought it would be possible to use 'built up' wing ribs and save on a lot of sheet balsa! ;)

i am thinking of making a jig to make them out of strips of 3mm balsa.

anyway.
got bored waiting for some glue to dry.

fin under construction.
its all made from 3mm strip with 9mm square leading and trailing edges.

10 ribs for the tail plane cut, need to cut the slots for the ribs and then cut 4 more for the center section.
the whole tail bolts on, so the center ones are a bit more complicated.
run out of 3mm balsa now anyway, so no more till after the nats.

the issue was that i only had a view of the center ribs, i have had to extrapolate what the rest look like.

well i am back from the nats (excellent time) with a boot full of balsa wood.
sooooooooooooooooooooooooo
after clearing some bits out of the workshop (i need more room, or less models) i did a little bit more.

finished cutting the ribs and cut some strip (thick strip) and started building.

The tailplane is 4ft wide, thats the same size as my funfly main wing. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.
i need to make up the ply center ribs and wing braces and wing mounts next, then i can put the leading and trailing edges on and start the elevators.
