Brian Taylor Me109E

Right then guys and gals (hope i can say that!) Been asked to start a blog on my first build for a long time.
Been 10 years since I last built something so I thought I'd go with something easy I've built a BT model before, it was crushed and burned (another story!) So I wanted something that was scale, German (love me Geermans) and not too big so I could get it about in the car.
I opted for Brian Taylor 109E.
Now I intend to fit an electric engine, please no debate on electrikery and ic, my choice, simple as that. Now I know squat all abouy electrics so I will be relying on the guidance of you guys .
So, plans sent for three weeks ago, duly arrived and opened, then went for a strong coffee haha.
Made a start and this is it so far. Not been able to do much, I work full time and have three teenagers to look after
Lets see if I've mastered the art of photobucket!

I process the photos myself using an ancient version of Photoshop lite (free with a printer in 1998 ) to get them below 100kb, then upload as attachments and insert.

Subscribed, what span is the 109? and watcha doing for retracts?

at that size, get some weight off the back end, if those formers were mine, they would be in the form of hoops, with the middle cut out, lose back end weight where ever you can, every bit you remove, will be three times that amount saved at the front, unless, of coarse, you have a scale daimler benz unit to go in?

That's very good advice Alan!

I would also add that you should choose your wood carefully if you can and for similar reasons to Alan, put the lightest stock at the back end

hi guys, thanks for the interest. Alan, it's 68 inch ws, and the retracts recommended for this were Unitracts mechanical, Thanks for the advice on the weight, I am aware of this and will be making all efforts to save weight where I can. The finished weight according to BT is ten and a half pounds, so we shall see.
Did a bit more today, covered and sanded the underside fuf. Now if I can master photobucket I'll show you LOL
