At this point I remember that I have not cut the top off the tissue paste tube. So I cut it off dead accurately, then discover that it is not necessary as the cap is a twist top

I was watching remember, you forgot to tell them how you were squeezing the tube for at least 30 seconds before you realised you hadn't cut the top off

A restless night followed...........I know I've done it right...I know it......but doubts prevailed. I even considered putting the tissue on with the grain going the other way.

And then a piercing light came down from above. Well actually I asked our resident demi-god. Mr Sephton queried the method, the dope, my sanity, and lastly he said 'what tissue you using...?'.......Ahhh no dont use that crap.....sayeth he...Speak to my best friend George at Sams Models.

Now George is a very nice man who told me just what and where my very expensive tissue had come from. He said not to hang it in the toilet as it has no wet strength. I know that says I. Can you help........He say yes of course.....why you no come me inna first place. So dear reader, the thread is ground to a halt till real Esaki gets here.......... he even had it in drip proof yellow....

Spot on Quorn, that is exactly the tin we are all used to. I even use that colour and No78 for the inside cockpit finish on WW2 aircraft. That little depression is perfect for mixing of tiny amounts of pain. A quick wipe at the end removes it all.
As for the younger generation missing out, I feel that is sooo true. In my club we have no-one who is CIB cleared, nor willing to undergo such vetting, in order to openly educate, teach, or instruct our young people. For this reason, we, and many many other clubs, exclude youngsters. I know its a bit off topic but I have seen keen youngsters turned away. Advice has been offered, but ultimately we cannot accept them as members. For the sport, it's a crying shame.

Forgive me Eric but they don't look a bit like the humbrol enamels we used to use.

They look like those little Matchpots that you buy when testing out which colour you want the dining room to be

They are acrylic......? Do they sell the enamels in those pots too..?

By the way mate, they are on fire...................

I assume the Humbrol Enamel are oil based & thinned with white spirit or turpentine .... the acrylic are water based?
