My new (old) hack

Nothing very special other than it is in its 5th or 6th reincarnation!

The new bit is the "V" tail. The previous mid mounted tailplane was getting rather battered having been re-glued countless times.
For belly landing a 'V' tail is stiffer than a 'T' yet still keeps the tail out of the grass.

Despite being a 'bitsa' (the wing with an Eppler195 section is made up of the outer panels of a glider) it actually flies remarkably well.
Just under 16oz with a 1500mAh 3s but that still means over 150W/lb with a 6 minute full power endurance and it flies nicely on just 30W.
More to the point at 4+ years old it owes me nothing.

Is that the same one you did a tarzan to retrieve after I "landed" it on t'other side of the stream?

Well yes and no.
The fuselage is but the wing and tail are new. Its a bit like Trigger's broom!

At the moment I only have an 'on board' key fob video but it does give some idea of its performance.

This flight used about half the battery capacity.
