Blackburn 1912 Monoplane - 48" (1220mm) PAW Diesel

Well, after a layoff of over two weeks caused by BMFA commitments (Scale Indoor FF Nats) and some personal issues (side effects from a medical procedure earlier in the year), I'm finally back in the workshop.

The empennage is still breaking up as I sand it, so I've reluctantly had to add some gussets to allow it to be finished.



I met up with Dave Banks - provider of exquisite and very light pilots for FF models - at the Nats and he kindly provided me with a couple of pilots suitable for the Blackburn. The larger one weighs 24gms and the smaller 12 gms. Both are moulded on a foam core with a smoother surface for painting. I suspect I'll be using the larger of the two as the smaller is cut off too high.

After an enforced month off, I've managed to get back into the workshop and create sawdust ........only to have the b-thing break on me yet again!
