As the scuffing is the same all the way round and the tip clearance is virtually constant I don't ting the case has deformed, at least not permanently. It possible that at some point (it is on its fourth repair) that an impact caused the motor mount to flex such that the blades touched and that caused the fan to bounce round for a few revolutions.
Anyway I have cleaned up the marks a bit with some fine sandpaper wedged between the tip of the fan blade and the casing.

The ESC installed. Now a 50A just to be sure. The slight increase in weight will help with the CofG.

The elevator servo is also in place under the battery box with the 6ch micro Rx in a Depron box glued on the inside of the fuselage.
A final check to make sure it all works so the last bit of the skin can then be closed up.
Once that is done it will be hung on the wall so I can return to the Heinkel. :) :)

Calm today at tea time so the V-1 went for its re-maiden.
From this.

To this! :woohoo:

It behaved in an almost identical manner to that which required the rebuild in the first place although this time the motor did not cut out but the result was almost identical ending in full blooded pitch up and a vertical nose plant.
Although the CofG was at 25%, so should have been 'safe', I can only assume that somewhere in the last two rebuilds something went awry.
I do wonder if the long pull/pull elevator had a bit too much give in it. It certainly flew well enough from the hand launch but after few seconds control became very odd.

It will definitely not be rebuilt again but I do have an idea for its EDF.;)

Just to make sure I don't rebuild it this is all that is left.

I have even moved its pictures (all 155 of them) to my "old planes" directory!

Burying it deeply into the archive, then!

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!
