The Venom really should have tip tanks.
After several failed attempts.

Printed vertically in two sections using LW-PLA

With the two sections glued together It is 250 mm long and weighs 3.3g.
It includes a flat section so it can be glued to the Venom wing tip.

Not suite sure what happened but the first tip tanks was rather too thin.
Fortunately being made up from two ellipses in FreeCad it only required a single dimension, the max diameter, to be changed to give a new fatter shape.

Obviously it uses a bit more material so the weight goes up from 2.9g to 5.3g.

The Venom is still progressing, slowly.

The fins are on, the booms have been sanded to profile
The control surfaces are connected to their servos and tested for full travel and mid position.
The ESC is next. Once installed it will allow much of the fuselage top planking to be completed.  .

Such a nice looking model.  How about a photo from below?  I am wondering how you are fitting in the aileron servo as the wing section is thin that far out.

The wing is not quite as thin as it might look. In fact the aileron servo position was chose so the tiny 3.7g servo would just fit between the skins.

The underside skin was locally cut away to allow the servo to be inserted and glued to the underside of the upper skin. The servo was then covered with a Depron panel sanded to a variable thickness so the under side of the wing was flush.
My usual glued in totally inaccessible servo installation.
A short video on the aileron working.

To complete the picture the tail plane is rather thinner than the wing so although the elevator servo installation is similar it does mean the servo itself is flush with the underside.

All the surface horns are identical although the very short elevator link does result in the elevator having slightly different travel.

With the 30A ESC installed a short video of the 11 blade 50 mm EDF on a 3s under test. It blows the door shut. .

It draws 18A  delivering 196W

Thanks for the photo and the video.  Sorry not to respond earlier - I was stuck into creating a video of our visit to Spitsbergen.

Putting servos in places where it can't be accessed for adjusting the arm without getting an X-acto blade is
something that has caught me out a few times.  My older Dragonfly I discover has one of the inside-the-wing servos flapping
around because it broke its bond to the wing. Argh.

So far my glued in servos, in most cases they are glued to both the upper and lower skins, have never "let go" other than in a serious crash where the wing damage was such that the servo would have to have been reinstalled anyway.

I have been thinking about a colour scheme for the Bigger Venom. The Swiss Airforce continued to use Venoms long after the RAF and even had an aerobatic display team of garishly decorated Venoms.
My  scheme will be based on one. Very simple bright red and white which also matches the Swiss air force markings. Scarlet red fuselage, wing roots, booms, fins and tip tanks. Outer wings and tail plane white.

Should be easy enough to see.

I suspect I used hot glue to attach the servos that came loose.  What do others use to attach servos?

Screws into a wood plate!  :-) If the supporting plate is going into foam - bond it with epoxy or silicon adhesive, to spread the load area.
Hot-melt is thermally unstable  ie - if it gets warm, it creeps!
I've told the tale - previously - that in my slope-soaring days, one of the gang built a wood model bonded entirely with the 'new' (at the time) hot-melt. He was expounding on how fantastic it was, and how quickly the kit model went together  until he noticed that it was going droopy in the sunlight!

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

The FunCub servos are wrapped in masking tape and then the outer side of the tape is glued with Cyano, seems to work.

Do it now, you may never get another chance

Just gluing the servo directly to the wing skin foam having first removing the servo labels does seem a lot simpler,
A 3.7g servo 'as supplied' next to a 'glued in' servo extracted from a wing due to a stripped gear.

Even the mounting lugs have been cut off which means I have lots and lots of the tiny mounting screws spare!

Still slowly moving on with the bigger Venom.

All the planking complete except around the cockpit canopy which will also be the battery hatch.
One the canopy is done the airframe can be painted - crimson red and white.
