Avro D 1911 biplane

I wonder if anyone has a set of plans for a Avro D 1911 biplane 1/6th scale (62") going cheap please. Many thanks, Peter

Not sure such a plan exists Peter, there is a chap on the web offering a 1/4 scale plan.

Just been in touch with www.model-plans.co.uk and I am now the proud owner of a set of 1/6th scale plans. Whoopee. Cant believe my luck. £13.75 including postage. The same set of plans from the USA would set me back about $65 including postage. (£46.00). Peter

Having a look at the plans and there is a jig to make the wings but for the life of me I cant work it out. I have included a copy of the plan. All ideas most welcome.

the jig is at the bottom of the drawing

there are no ribs to speak of, a typical section is bottom capping, the leading edge then a spar and then a infill piece of 3/32 balsa in the middle then another spar then some top capping . I was wondering if you laid all this up in the jig as a sandwich maybe.

The idea is you make a board to the shape given and build the wing on that, you have three choices from my point of view, build the jig ( you would need to make a profile gauge from the drawing first) redesign the ribs so there solid or cut two of the jig patterns shown and use them to cut a foam jig.

should make a wonderfully light wing.
Edit: I would use spruce for the cap strips, you'll have a devil of job covering it if you use balsa.
