An annual event that brings out some superb small scale RC models and a few others you would not normally see down the club. I took some video of the highlights...

Very nice Dom, thanks for posting.
I did wince a bit at the one minute point when the modeller put his hand though the propeller disc with the transmitter almost behind him and close to his right boot ...
On a different but related subject, do you know what he used to make the cowlings?

Hopefully he has a throttle cut/disable on a switch, and not a press-button that only works while the button is held down (like the 'trainer' switch).
It is amazing how many people think that electric motors are safe, and won't start when you don't expect it, like an i/c that won't start until it is spun over compression.

Sorry. Don't know the answer to the question regarding making the cowls Andy. If I cross his path again I will ask.
F7F TIGERCAT twin engined Navy Fighter/Attack Airplane (Electric RC). Never seen one of these before. Apparently a discontinued ASM kit. Converted to electric by its owner and well done because it flies so well. 80 inch wingspan and 20 lbs in weight so it's fairly bit even for a twin.

Awesome electric ducted fan replica of the 1940's Miles M.52 supersonic jet. Scratch built from only 3 views of the original full size aircraft. Powered by a 90mm Wemotec fan on 6S5000 lipo battery pack.

If there's one thing I enjoy filming it's these scratch built re-creations of iconic scale aircraft. Great example here with this Hawker Tempest Mk V. Not only looks and flies scale but sounds like the real deal with its Benedini sound system.

The Miles never flew.
the yanks made us stop development and they stole all our ideas for the bell x-1.
winkle wanted to fly it, but it was scrapped.

Another stunning scratch built RC airplane from my recent visit to Middle Wallop for the BMFA Electric Fly-In. A faithful scale reproduction of an iconic British aircraft. Not only does it look super scale but it also has opening / closing cargo doors and automated deployment of its cargo. Fantastic!
