Widget

We have a shop in town that is full of widget's
I think it might be called " sin city" or similar.

There are regional differences for widgets, here in Surrey they are commonly known as "wasisnames " where as my son down in the West country they are called "thingymebobs ".

There certainly are some wonderful "local" sayings. I remember my father working on a car engine with me leaning over asking what the problem was ? his reply " I think the whirligig for grinding smoke is not working, due to a stuck oofle valve !
