Navy Cat

Built this last week, i bought it in the model shop in Nicacia 395 euros which is very cheep for a jet, when compaired to my boomerang Sprint that was over £600 and nowhere nere as good a quality
Fibre glass fuse and very well made,
Fitted the Jetcat 100 in it, fired it up and after about a minute the fuel pump packed up , now waiting on Jetcat to replace as its under warranty




Where to fly it is the problem

Please, please, please . not at the crashing site !!!! Our nerves will never stand it

Had a hard landing at the week end with the Navy Cat, lost power for some reason, still unknown and had to make an emergency landing it came in hard and bounced, knocked the nose gear out, the formers came away from the fuselage skin, i was lucky really that the china lady did not use more flour with the water when they stuck the formers in or it would have torn the fibre glass skin



Cut some new formers from 6mm ply and hysoled them in, also enforced the glass around the nose area

It has been a bit of a bitch to land at the best of times, as soon a it touches the ground on the mains it bounces back up in the air, one of the jet guys said it was my thumbs that was the problem, so he had a flight and it did the same for him

Ha ha Tony, if they take the mickey , let them have a go. If the same thing happens to them , the difficulty seems to be not looking too smug

Have you got much sag on those trailing links? Might be your springs are a bit too stiff. Seen a few of these flying or variations and not seen one bouncing that much as they seem to come in so slow.
Good to see you have a bit of luck with the bad glue joints but I guess you need to work out the reason for the power loss?

Hi Simon, nothing showed up on the hand held ecu when i pluged it in and i fired it up again after about five minutes and it was perfect
I had been throwing it around a lot, there was hardly any level flight enjoying myself and some one sujested this may have caused some air to get into the fuel line
The problem i have is that i am stone deaf cannot hear anything at all without my bionics that plug in my ear and i have an infecction in the ear at the moment so i could not hear the turbine at all just flying it by sight and feel i had felt the loss of power
It is a much better flyer than my sprint was but the sprint lands very well, and these are the retracts from off the sprint, i kicked them out of the fire, soaked them in kerosine for a week cleand them up put new tyres, O rings and springs on them and they work ok, so the springs should be ok
Working on it this morning so should be ready for Friday

Got an air leak on the Navy Cat and can i hell as find it, sometimes it will hold then next cycle it leaks i have no chance of hearing it so iv been useing fairy liquid thined down, actuly pinpointed two but its still loseing air
