I use Mike Reeves Metalcoat and his rivet system, www.mickreevesmodels.co.uk/~mickreev/Access/accessories.htm using a clock wheel on the foil can look effective as rivets.
This website shows a good method of applying the Metalcoat www.flitemetal.com/ (Applying Flite-metal)
the 3M 218 Fine Line Tape you can get from this company marineindustrial.co.uk/ they are Trade but will sell to the individual.
