Boomerang Nano

All finished with my original Wren 54 from my intro.









After selling my Intro, this came along at the right price so decided to put it together. Has eflite electric retracts which I've never tried before, but another flier uses them in his Nano and they are fitted to his 4th airframe !!.

Not much space in the nose of this one. Got everything forward but it will still need some weight in the front (got to fill the header tank first as this will reduce this a bit).

Should be a good little model for the tight strip I fly my Sprint from, but still not sure I will keep it. Going to fit my camera to this one, will post back once the maiden is done.

nice combination, looks great, seen these fly off some small fields, how is the elevator controlled, i guess a singleb servo in the tailplane, if so, how is the wiring routed?

It's wired by an extension through the boom Alan.

Yep, the wiring is in the boom on the left hand side. Made and braided all my loom before the wing was joined but when I put her together this afternoon I got a bit concerned when I was one connection short. It had just dropped back into the boom, but for a moment it flashed through my mind that I had wired it on the wrong side and all the hassle of pulling out the loom etc etc.

She flies!!

Only got one flight but no problems. Needed a bit of aileron trim, more than I would have liked, but apart from that she cruised around on half throttle.

Mixed too much down elevator with the flap which made the landing more tricky than it needed to be. Tried to trim it, but moved the wrong trim and shut the turbine down.......that's nerves for you!! Model rolled on a little into the grass at the end of the strip, but apart from some grass cuttings in the intakes, no harm done.

Will try and get some video at some point.
