Ultra Flash

Decided to take a step up next year with my jets, so a lot of models have gone to make room for this. Got no where to fly it except for the JMA meetings but I think it will be worth it.



The previous owner quoted some speed figures......this thing is quick by all accounts. Will not fly till next year but will try and get some photos of my maiden.

She is tucked up in her bags....even the fuselage has a full length padded bag. Put up a new shelf for this one.....no way this is getting scratched.

Had an expensive day yesterday when starting to set her up. Bit of confusion over plugs saw the wrong one plugged into the powerbox.......and out with the magic smoke.


Here is a shot today with the new powerbox fitted, all switched on and no smoke. Also changed out the other plugs so that mistake can never happen again.



First jet meeting is on the 7/8th March and I can't wait. Might get time to get wings and horizontal stab on tomorrow and do final radio set up as well as just double checking the c of g. She has flown before but I'm checking everything.

I don't know what is inside a powerbox, but it don't smell nice if you let it out

Been a long while coming, but she flew last weekend at RAF Wyton (another one turning into a housing estate....such a shame)



Only had one flight after the test flight was done by a much more experience jet man than myself. Only the second model I've ever let someone else test fly for me (the first being my trainer 35 years ago).

I could hardly watch, but then I had a go.



Not smiled that much since I got married!!

Did most of the flight at less than half throttle and was very nervous. Did one pass at full bore and it really moves. Only had one flight as something is not quite right with the tanks, so decided to check over rather than risk a flame out.

Congrats Si. Only had 4 flights on mine to trim out and like you have not 'opened' it up yet. I'm not used to flying something so far away and so darn quick but I'm getting there.
