BIG Avro Vulcan suffers in-flight engine FIRE

Drama at the recent Large Model Association Cosford Model Show when this big 4 turbine engine powered Vulcan took to the sky and engine 3 suffered an engine fire. Skillful recovery by the pilot.

Thanks for that Dom. As an aside, lets point out that this was the MODEL, not the full size Vulcan, a mistake that worried quite a few RCME forum members

Not one of its better flights, seemed to be wollowing quite a bit , was it windy
He will loose that plane before he's done, they knew something was wrong with that engine and still he flew it
Beautiful model though, the TN turbine one is on my list to do's, but i need engines first

Thats right Eric, seems more than a coincidence, as you dont see that many catching fire in the air, usualy in a wet start where fuel has been leaked around the turbine,
Being a good show pilot as he is, i think he flew it with a problem that they were looking at before take off, so safty dictates he should not fly it, that thing is 20' wing span and if it went flaming into the spectators !!!! dont bear thinking about with the amount of fuel it had on board for 4 engines
