Rarely seen IC ducted fan powered jet at a recent Classic Jets event. Flies really well and obviously has more than adequate power to push it along at a good speed.

Very nice model there, I did not have the sound on as I don't like to hear a two stroke driving a jet,
And the landing was as good as I have seen from a jet, very soft touch down, not banged in
Lovely
Thanks for showing Dom.

haha...consider this an appetiser. If the planets align I will be filming the world's largest RC Folland Gnat tomorrow. Fairly excited at the prospect.

Ahh is that the new yellow one, from scale something or other model company that was shown at the jet event in Germany
Have not heard anything of it since then

Yes! That's the one. Saw it being handed to Dave Wilshere for familiarisation and prep last weekend. It's an amazing model. Fingers crossed he has it ready and it flies.

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

Just a side comment - have you noticed how these 'models' are getting bigger, and bigger, and bigger?
How long before the BMFA or CAA says 'enough', and puts a maximum size and/or weight limit on them?
How long before someone builds a 3/4 size r/c 767 or similar? (and imagine the carnage if one 'got away'!)

The engine in the Gnat is a Jet Central Rhino 220. Start up is automatic. Generally done by putting idle all the way up. Then throttle stick all the way up and then back to zero. Then 30-60 seconds later the ECU hands over throttle control to the pilot and you are good to go.
Just to add that the 1:3.5 scale Gnat flew twice yesterday. I'm uploading the vid now. It's quite a long vid because I took exterior close up shots as well. Was almost perfect day for filming so should be good. Will post link when the vid has been uploaded and processed.
