Another highlight from the recent Bruntingthorpe Jet Modellers Association event. Not just superb true scale flying but a truly spectacular landing. High alpha to bleed off the speed and touched down on the mains followed by the nose wheel.

The landing was indeed a good one, I have some way to go to get to that stage :(
Never been a fan of the F range of jets for some reason
Another good job done of filming Dom, that new camera is doing a good job or is it the man behind it ;)
Thanks for showing
Tony
Im a fan of the turbine jets

I think it's 90% the camera that does it Tony ;) Would you believe that was the pilot's first flight and landing with the model. Isn't fair is it. I've flown some of my jets for 2 years and I almost always bend a strut pin on landing. :(

1, Dare I ask how much these very scale looking jets cost?, 2, do you need special licence to fly them, 3, where near scunthorpe could I see some of them flying, novice questions, boz :)

A few bob Boz, a guy at our club had a brand new Skymaster F14 and ploughed it in 30 seconds into its maiden flight
Everything in it was new including the two turbines, and everything was destroyed in the fire 15000 euros +
My SU27 was 2700 euros + two turbines 3600 + everything in it 1000
That's why it is a clean pair of pants every time I fly it :P but it don't half make you concentrate and the adrenalin rush is something else
That's why im trying to build a cheap O D jet, I have lost two, one I pulled the wrong stick :S and the other I lost radio contact, or something interfered with the signal  and everything was lost in the fire as it had three lts fuel on board

To give you an idea, Boz, have a look here - these are US prices.
The UK dealer doesn't give prices, just says call for quote - in other words, if you need to ask, you can't afford one! [badass]

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

Boz
This guy in Torquay will sell you a JetCat P20 turbine (like the one used in Dominic's latest video) for £1700.
But by the time you include the cost of the plane and everything else you need it makes for quite an expensive toy!

OMG, thanks Q, BB, Eric, good job I'm sat down.
Here is me moaning about bits for the austin, I would love to see them for real, so during the summer I will look out for one of Dominic venues near me and spectate. Thanks boz :)

You could see them at the Nationals at the end of August at Barkston heath airfield along with anything else you would like to see, it is one mile south of the village of Ancaster where I was born and bred
