I've used the RunCam2 micro camcorder quite a bit over the years to get some great onboard shots from some of the larger models at the shows and events. Here's a first compilation of some select clips from recent projects. For this season I've got a HD 360 camera that will enable the viewer to pan the view themselves! Looking forward to trying that out on a few large scale models.

re the 3D camera - the results can be very interesting - but beware - they take hours and hours to upload to the 'tube.
I can't find the item I wanted, but a guy who uses 3D says a 14 minute vid took 22 hours to load up, due to the file size.

A p.s. to the 360' camera - the lens is VERY fragile and easily damaged, as the other user I nearly mentioned found out when he accidentally dropped it!. Be VERY careful with it, and I'd strongly advise that you insure the camera!

Hoping to get it on a big RC model this weekend but I took it out for a walk. I think it'll be fun to use it especially on big models flying in formation. Warbirds, jets etc at big shows like Weston and LMA Cosford.

The first application of our new 360 camera. I attached it just behind the canopy of my turbine powered CARF Models UltraFlash sport jet. With its JetCat P160SX engine this jet will get to ~250mph.

This camera allows you the viewer to change the field of view both horizontally and vertically by using your pointer. Pan to the rear of the jet to see it climb out steeply or pan to the front to scorch across the strip. Enjoy !

A quite remarkable piece of technology. Shades of a Google car camera!

Very nice. My first "go" was a bit disorientating, then brain started working and after that it was brill'.

Have a nice Day, unless I don't like you.

360 onboard video from the NEW Avios Grand Tundra this time. A big 1.7m EPO foam Bush Plane running on a 6S5000 pack. Some gentle flying up to altitude and then some aerobatics. Strap in tight.

Use your pointer to change the view as you watch !

Pretty nice, in case any-one did not notice. The camera view not only rotates, it also goes up and down, plus it zooms in and out.

Have a nice Day, unless I don't like you.

I haven't seen a Grand Tundra yet, but the regular one makes a good fun model. It will never win any aerobatic contests, as it is reluctant to stay downside up.
As FTB noted - you can zoom in too, use the scroll wheel.
That slot you can see is the glider tow-line release - though how you get an (optional) servo in there - - -
-
Also - as I've found out - if you hear a sharp click as the prop starts to turn, take the prop and cowl off, (four screws) remove the motor X-mount, and check that the little 2.5 x 5mm countersunk screws that hold the motor to the mount haven't worked loose. I've lost six of them so far! (and put bits of blenderm tape over them, now, to try to stop them escaping!).
