Lipo's

How about a thred on lipos , ie. the ones you use and the one's you dont like ,the problems you have had from them,
Being new to this i for one would be very interested in other peoples views
I am still trying to find something that i am completely happy with, i have some Tipple, Gens Ace, overland Eflite and others,
I had nothing but dsaster's from the overland ,i bought Gens Ace for the SR71 but they seem bulky and they got quiet warm on the disaster runs for the sr
So i would like to hear of other peoples up's and down's to maybe learn some more.
May save me some wasted money in the future

After the SR71 build im looking at building a 126" Spitfire with a Turnigy electric motor and a sound system
so I'm currently looking at turnigy lipo's 6s and up to 150c, both for the SR71 and the Spit'.
Or it will have to be an inline ic twin but that wont sound like the real thing.
I dont know if you can get 12s lipo's I have never seen them.
So you see I need some input before I get started.
And I still have the problems with the SR71

Can't help with best or bad. One thing I would suggest though. Use lower cell count Packs in SERIES. Easier to get, Easier to charge, Easier to identify poor Pack/cells. Also gives wider scope for use in other applications/models.

What a strange question BB are there any 12s lipos?

Without looking, the answer is I Dont know.

Something I have never thought of, but like you, I have never looked

I cant say I have ever seen any listed, but have always been under the impression that they joined 2 6s to give 12 s but could be wrong

I agree, 3S lipo's seem to be more common & that must reduce the price... they are the same cells & some places will make them up into packs to order.
If you end up with a dodgy cell then it is easier to locate & replace ... but be warned, if you replace a cell in an ageing pack, the pack will only be as good as its worst cell.
The good news is that it'll be the worst cell that dies next.
