Klippy - don't you take the wing off for storage or charging?

if you are calm and collected when all about you are going berserk - you've missed something important!

You know guys ... the best switch is no switch. just plug straight into the receiver and use a clip to hold the plugs in place..
1 less thing to go wrong.

Bone idle I'm afraid Eric, plus time is limited, so flying is as quick as shoving the model in the pickup, driving 300yards, plugging in the battery, and flying. However, I now check that everything is working!
I only fly the one model at the moment, it's my intention to fly this one to death before I commit to another one.

Sorry about this lads, but I have got to hand it to Horizon Hobbies for service. In the last month I have totally smashed two models. Speed Air, and Duelsky Extra 260, both my fault. The Speed Air went in first, so even though it worked perfectly, I sent the 6200 RX in for checking. I recieved a brand new 6210 within 3 days with their compliments. Imagine my supprise when the same thing happened when I sent in the second one for checking. Not even any postage charge. No wonder they are the number 1 on RCME. They get my vote.

There was a serious thread on RCM&E recently about a Spekky problem on the DX8 ... Timbo's just bought one.
Do either of you guys want to PM him for more info or shall I e-mail him?

Pol.

I just own the forum .... you guys make it great thanks.

I will PM him Pol if you want me to, but why the concern? Is it just for general info on here for the members?

Just a general warning for this place Garry ... in fact you could just find his thread & get the details.

I was considering the DX8 myself so it's of interest to me.

Having got my new DX8 Tuesday last week, I duly registered it on the Spektrum website, and also downloaded the latest airware ( Ver 2.03 ).
Re-bound half a dozen gliders on Thursday night including 3 Elevon equipped wings and flew on Friday. First to hit the air was my old trusty Wildthing, which need a load of up trim. Applying the up trim button rapidly in the 50MPH wind, saw the model dive even steeper. A bit more thinking and head scratching saw the exact same result...as witnessed by two other modellers.
Thinking it "must be me" I tried again on the ground, and sure enough
THE ELEVATOR TRIMS ARE WORKING IN REVERSE TO THE STICK !!

Researching the issue further, I find on a lengthy thread in the US that this is a known software bug, and was discovered several weeks ago.

The short term fix as discussed in that thread is to set flap to inhibit in the system menu, on any elevon wing model - then all is fine. Normal wing models are unaffected.

Spektrum are working on the problem right now, and a new release will be made available soon.... I guess.
